I {name} , as a student of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra CI – Jersey, understand that I am expected to uphold the values of respect, discipline, and responsibility both on and off the mats. By signing this Code of Conduct, I agree to the following:
1. Respect and Behaviour
- I will treat instructors, training partners, staff, and visitors with respect at all times.
- I will follow the instructions of coaches and staff during training and events.
- I will arrive on time, in clean uniform, and ready to train.
- I will maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a safe and inclusive training environment.
2. Safety and Responsibility
- I understand that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport and carries a risk of injury.
- I will train responsibly, tap early, and avoid reckless behaviour that could harm myself or others.
- I will report any injuries, concerns, or unsafe behaviour to an instructor immediately.
3. Conduct Outside of Training
- I understand that my behaviour outside of class reflects on the club and the sport.
- I will not use Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques outside of training or competition, except in situations of genuine self-defence where no other option is available.
- I will avoid actions that could damage the reputation of Gracie Barra CI – Jersey or its members.
4. Consent and Waiver
- I acknowledge that I am participating voluntarily and understand the risks involved.
- I accept personal responsibility for my conduct and safety during training.
